The hotel takes its name and inspiration from Jazz cornetist Bix Beiderbecke, one of jazzes true giants and perhaps the first great lyricist, the hallmarks of his style and music are delicacy of phrase and nuance, wonderfully poised rhythmic sophistication and rich sonority. The hotel, although not large, has some outstanding features. Architecturally, occupying as it does a Grade II* listed building in what has been described as the most important Georgian terrace outside Bath.
